Announcing the birth of the Lebanese Motorcycle Club
After the end of the race organized by the Lebanese Motorcycle Club (LMC) last Sunday, the Club held a press conference in the Movempic Hotel, to explain all about the club and the sport in addition to officially launching the club. The press conference was held by Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah, the vice president of the international Motorcycle federation and the president of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Mr. Ali Dagher president of the LMC, Mr. Ziad Karanouh the organizer of the event and an experienced Lebanese rally driver and Mr. Hasan Sharara of Al Jadeed TV.
The press conference that was exclusively covered by www.biser3a.com talked about the newly born club and its future ambitions and dreams. It also talked about the significant importance of this sport in Lebanon and the necessity of creating an official organization to handle its matters professionally. Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiyah explained thoroughly this project and ensured his support to Lebanon and the LMC and promised many enhancements for the future. He stated firmly that the QMMF will hand all its support and professional expertise of the Lebanese club and will work on helping in the development of Lebanese riders.
Mr. Ali talked about the dangers of practicing these sports on the roads and the causalities that are falling due to the unorganized state of this sport in Lebanon. Mr. Ali also spoke about the idea of the whole project and the dedication they are willing to give it so it can succeed. He also spoke about their willingness to support any Lebanese talent hoping for an international participation.
Mr. Karanouh talked thoroughly about the organization of the event and the logistics in addition to the challenges they face and their future plans. He also talked about his experience in this field and his belief that this sport can reach unprecedented heights.
The press conference witnessed the presence of many specialized and established sports media outlets were they contributed by asking the officials about all the details regarding the sports.
Biser3a.com contributed by asking Mr. Al Attiyah about the potential of having a circuit in Lebanon and asked Mr. Ali about the procedure of getting a license to driver in the Motorcycle events. Mr. Al Attiyah ensured us that having a circuit is very important for improving the sport in Lebanon in addition to generating revenue which helps in investing more in the sport. There was no official declaration about any plans for the circuit but Mr. Al Attiyah promised to help as much as he can. Regarding the issue of Licensing Mr. Ali ensured that this issue is not very difficult but it has to go through the formal process and international licensing is possible and will also have to be subject to some professional measures.
The press conference was concluded with the presentation of memorial gesture from the LMC to Mr. Al Attiyah thanking him for all his effort. Journalists were then invited for lunch in the Movempic Hotel.
